On Tuesday, BMW and Stellantis both warned that the global semiconductor chip shortage that has been plaguing the automotive industry this year will continue into 2021 and beyond, impacting production and sales. The pandemic has caused carmakers to close down plants, and they are now competing with the large consumer electronics industry for chip deliveries, which have been disrupted due to the pandemic.
