Batiste wins album honor, Zelenskiy makes appeal at Grammys
Jon Batiste won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, with R&B duo Silk Sonic taking two of the other top honors. Batiste, who leads the band on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” was awarded five awards in total for his jazz album “We Are”, which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. In his acceptance speech, Batiste said that he believes there is no "best" musician, artist, dancer, or actor, and that he puts his head down and works on his craft every day. During the ceremony, a surprise appeal for support was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.0
