UK’s Big Ben tower gets the blues as clock hands return
The refurbishment of the iconic "Big Ben" tower at the Houses of Parliament has advanced with the reinstallation of its clock hands, which have been painted in their original Prussian blue hue. The 177-year-old structure has been covered in scaffolding since 2017, when specialists began to repair the stonework, reglaze the four clock dials, and repaint the ironwork. The 80 million pound ($111 million) restoration is expected to be finished in 2021, when the 13-tonne Big Ben bell will sound again after being mostly quiet during the renovation.0
