UK economy grew in February as firms readied for lockdown easing
In February, Britain's economy increased by 0.4% from the previous month as businesses geared up for the end of the third COVID-19 lockdown. This was lower than the 0.6% growth predicted by economists surveyed by Reuters. The data also revealed that the GDP decline in January was not as bad as initially thought, with a decrease of 2.2% instead of the initial 2.9%. Last year, the UK experienced its most severe economic downturn in over 300 years, with a contraction of nearly 10%, which was more severe than in most other European countries due to the pandemic.0
