On Monday, China equaled Russia's record from the 1976 Games by winning their sixth and seventh gold medals in weightlifting. Li Wenwen and Wang Zhouyu both triumphed in the women's heaviest weight categories at Tokyo 2020, with Li setting an Olympic record of 320kg in the +87kg event and Wang lifting a combined weight of 270kg in the 87kg class.
