Olympics-Athletics-Ethiopian Barega wins men’s 10,000 metres
On Friday, Selemon Barega of Ethiopia won the men's 10,000 metres gold medal, the first of the Olympic athletics programme, stunning world champion and world record holder Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda. Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda earned the bronze medal. Barega, 21, secured the victory on the last lap with a sprint to the finish line.0
