LG Display to supply OLED TV panels to Samsung Electronics
Samsung Electronics, the world's largest TV vendor, is looking to expand into high-end organic light emitting diode (OLED) TVs, as reported exclusively by Reuters. To help them do this, LG Display has agreed to supply Samsung with high-end TV panels. This deal will help Samsung become profitable, as competition in the lower end of the market intensifies with Chinese vendors. Samsung has been slower than other major companies to adopt OLED TVs, citing the high cost of the panels and the fact that the technology is better suited to smaller devices.0
