In Myanmar jungle, civilians prepare to battle military rulers
At a clandestine jungle camp in Myanmar's eastern Karen state, a physical fitness instructor and other civilians are being trained by armed ethnic rebels to resist the military takeover of the country. In the isolated hills near the Thai border, these new combatants are being taught how to load guns and set off homemade explosives as they ready themselves to fight the army that staged the February 1 coup. Reuters has obtained exclusive footage of young men and women who have left their jobs in the city to become guerilla fighters, exchanging their branded t-shirts and colorful dresses for military fatigues. The images and video were taken in September.0
