In Brazil favela, skateboards made of bottle caps promote recycling
In the favela of Rocinha, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a project is underway to encourage recycling. In exchange for bottle caps, food is donated to the community. The bottle caps are then used to construct skateboards, which take around two hours to make. Arian Rayegani, a Canadian mechanical engineer, is the leader of the Na Laje Designs project. The skateboards are created from recycled plastic that is collected, recycled, and fabricated in Rocinha.0
