Carbon tax could help Asian countries hit climate targets -IMF
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva stated that a carbon price that increases gradually could assist Asian countries in achieving their objectives under the Paris climate agreement in the next ten years. She noted that there is a growing consensus that carbon pricing is the most efficient and cost-effective way to reduce emissions. Georgieva explained that by raising energy prices, carbon pricing encourages households and businesses to switch to more environmentally friendly options, as well as promoting energy efficiency, green investments, and innovation.0
