Australia cancels tennis star Djokovic’s visa, citing health risk
Australia revoked Novak Djokovic's visa for a second time on Friday, citing the possibility that the unvaccinated world tennis number one could be a health hazard. Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used his discretionary authority to annul Djokovic's visa, following a court overturning an earlier revocation due to COVID-19 entry regulations and freeing him from immigration custody on Monday. According to The Age, the Serbian, who was attempting to win a record 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open starting Monday, was asked to appear before immigration officials on Saturday and will not be sent back to detention in the meantime.0
