Hundreds of migrants have been forced to take refuge in abandoned buildings in and around the Bosnian town of Bihac, trying to protect themselves from the cold and snow as they attempt to make their way to Croatia, an EU member state. Since 2018, thousands of migrants from Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa have been using Bosnia as a transit route to reach Europe's wealthier countries. However, due to the difficulty of crossing EU borders, many have become stuck in Bosnia, a country with an ethnically divided government that is unable to provide proper shelter for the migrants.0
